This year I am excited to begin my 43rd year of teaching in Regional School District 6. My job description this year is Language Arts Coordinator, PreK-8 for the district as well as serving as Warren School's Literacy Specialist and Coach. In this capacity, I will be providing literacy support for the students and teachers in Warren, Morris, Goshen, and seventh and eighth grade at Wamogo.
Education: My education includes a B.S degree in Elementary Education with a Concentrate in Art from C.C.S.U., a M.S. degree in Elementary Education from W.C.S.U., a Sixth Year degree in Reading and a K-12 Reading Consultant Degree from W.C.S.U., and an Administrative Degree from S.C.S.U. I have also completed 54 hours of the Orton-Gillingham training.
Accomplishments: My academic accomplishments include Region 6 Teacher of the Year and Walmart Teacher of the Year. My professional activities include: ILA (International Literacy Association) member , CRA (CT Reading Association) member, WEA (Wamogo Education Association) Representative and Negotiation Team member, Teacher of the Year Committee, and founder of the Region 6 Book Club for Region 6 Staff Members.
